07. Why are there no Win 98 drivers and where can I get them?

Drivers for DOS/Win 3.1x  can be found on the disk. For Win 95/98/NT, you do not need specific drivers since Microsoft provides valid ATAPI drivers for ATAPI drives directly in these operating systems. These drivers work fine.
Problems can arise with newer boards and their BIOS versions if the DMA button in the device manager is activated. To avoid this, you should ask your BIOS manufacturer for a BIOS upgrade. In the meantime, deactivate the button to run the drive in PIO mode.
